Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit

Australia · 29 grands prix

The Albert Park Circuit, laid out around a lake in Melbourne, Australia, is a semi-street circuit that has often opened the F1 season since 1996. Smoothed and made faster by a 2021 reprofiling, it hosts the Australian Grand Prix.

A right-hander off the pit straight, widened in 2022 and forming the first chicane with Turn 2; a frequent first-lap flashpoint, where Carlos Sainz spun Fernando Alonso in the chaotic 2023 race.
The left-hander completing the first chicane by the Brabham grandstand; Valtteri Bottas spun into the barrier here in 2018 qualifying.
A fast right-hander widened in 2022 and the circuit's most notorious corner: Martin Brundle's car went airborne here in 1996, Fernando Alonso barrel-rolled at 46G in 2016, and Charles Leclerc spun into the gravel in 2023.
An unnamed left-hander whose shape predates the 2022 works.
An unnamed corner in the early part of the lap.
A corner reprofiled in 2022 from a slow turn into a fast sweeper, widened by around seven metres, and a recurring crash site: Alex Albon in 2024 practice, George Russell on the last lap of 2024, and others in 2025.
The corner opening the back-section Lakeside Drive; Nico Rosberg crashed here in 2016 practice and Albon crashed heavily here in the 2023 race.
An unnamed corner along the Lakeside Drive back section.
The high-speed left-right combination created in 2022 by removing the old slow chicane, extending the run along the lake toward 330 km/h; Oliver Bearman crashed exiting it in the wet 2025 race.
The second half of the fast 2022 sweep; Carlos Sainz made an error here in 2022 qualifying.
The old Turn 13, tightened and renumbered in 2022 as a braking-zone overtaking spot; Bearman spun into the gravel here in 2025.
An unnamed corner, the old Turn 14, forming the fast closing chicane with Turn 11.
A left-hander, the old Turn 15, widened in 2022 with added camber for extra racing lines.
The final corner before the pit straight, the old Turn 16.
