The Zeltweg Airfield circuit used the runways and perimeter roads of an Austrian Air Force base near Zeltweg, Styria, hosting the sole World Championship Austrian Grand Prix held there in 1964. Its bumpy concrete surface was unsuited to sustained racing, and its shortcomings led to the construction of the purpose-built Österreichring nearby, the forerunner of today's Red Bull Ring.
